HC seeks report from government on manhandling of RSS Pracharak


Admits petition seeking CBI probe into incident

BHOPAL: The High Court of Jabalpur, on Monday, instructed the home department and five police officials to submit a report on the alleged manhandling of the RSS pracharak in Balaghat, on Monday.

An organisation Democratic Lawyers Forum had filed the petition in the Court regarding the manhandle case of RSS pracharak Suresh Yadav on September 25.

Allegedly on September 25, Javed Khan filed a complaint against RSS activist Suresh Yadav for posting objectionable comment on WhatsApp group.

The SHO of Baihar, Zia Ul Haq and ASI Anil Ajmeriya took the action according to the FIR.

When the police tried to arrest the accused Suresh Yadav, he tried to abscond from the spot and hid himself in a medical store. The police arrested him, but mob reached the police station and freed the accused from police custody.

Later Suresh Soni filed the report against the police officials of loot and attempt to murder. He also got admitted in the private hospital in Jabalpur claiming that he had sustained serious injuries.

It is also alleged that some people are targeting police officials of particular religion to give this incident a communal colour.

Following the uproar the home department ordered to file the case against the ASP Rajesh Sharma, SHO, ASI and other policemen, in various sections.

The police officials are absconding since the FIR has been registered. Not only that the government has also transferred the IG of Balaghat zone and the SP of Balaghat district.

Few days back the family members of the absconding policemen and other posted in the district submitted the memorandum to the IG demanding unbiased investigation into the matter.

The petitioner’s counsel Vivek Tankha informed Free Press that the Forum president OP Yadav has filed the case demanding CBI investigations, into the matter. The court has ordered the state government to submit the reply within a week stating the reason of CBI inquiry.

He also added that the FIR has been registered against the policemen and the police are under pressure of the ruling party. “It is not possible that the police will going to conduct the fair inquiry and the independent agency is required to investigate the case”.

The court has served notices on the DGP, IG and SP of Balaghat and home department He also added that the Bar Association is supporting the police in the matter.
