BHOPAL : A three-day conference inaugurated at the Delhi Public School, Neelbad on Friday. It is being held for the first time in the city by Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Bhopal Chapter. This famous organisation who has already conducted multiple conferences across Madhya Pradesh, where their Indore conference had Sumitra Mahajan speak to 5000 students.
The organisation conducts simulations of the working of United Nations and the Indian Parliament in 100 cities across the country and makes students discuss issues such as terrorism, hunger and economics. This event will be attended by more than 500 students coming from different parts of Madhya Pradesh. The main agenda being discussed in this conference is getting India a permanent seat in the Security Council, which is a topic being lobbied hard by the Prime Minister and External Affairs minister in the actual United Nations.
Alok Sanjar, Member of Parliament of BJP inaugurated the opening ceremony. On the ocassion, Vandana Dhupar, Vice Principal of Delhi Public School Bhopal , Director General of the conference Rishabh Vora and the Secretary General of the conference Shubham Ramchandani being a part of it and shared a few words with the students.
In previous years, the conferences conducted by IIMUN has been attended or supported by noted luminaries like UN Secretary General Ban-Ki-Moon, First Lady IPS Officer, Kiran Bedi, Devendra Fadnavis Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur, Former UN Under Secretary General Shashi Tharoor, and noted Bollywood actor Vidya Balan, Imran Khan, Rahul Bose, Vir Das, Cyrus Broacha.
