SEHORE : A five-day event is underway at Vindhyavasini Devi Temple in the sacred month of ‘Shravan’. In this event, around 1.25 lakh Shivalingas are being made by the devotees. Addressing the function, former MLA Ramesh Saxena said it had started raining due to the blessings of Lord Bholenath. “The farmers were worried by the elusive rains for the past of couple days but now they are happy and elated”, he said.
Pandit Radheshyam Shastri, who is presiding over the ceremony, said that for the past four years, Shivalingas are being prepared on the temple premises praying for peace and prosperity. Shravan is considered the month of Lord Shiva and worshipping the Lord in this month brings blessings for the devotees.
Mahaabhishek of the prepared Shivlingas would be performed on July 17 and on the same day Mahaprasad would be distributed. On this occasion, Usha Saxena, chairperson of the district central cooperative bank, Amar Singh, Ramratan Gaur, Deepak Samadhia, Vikas Vishwakarma, Charnal, Ramesh Patel, Vishram Singh, Mahesh Sharma, Bala Prasad, Ramswaroop Thakur, Bhagwan Singh Yadav, Parmanand Meena and a large number of Shiv Bhaktas were present.
