BHOPAL : Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on being conferred with Bharat Ratna award by President Pranab Mukherjee going at former’s place, has brought cheer and happiness in the state. Vajpayee has been congratulated by not only the BJP but the Congress leaders too.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has congratulated Vajpayee by calling him as his patron. Chauhan termed Vajpayee as unparalleled personality. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has also said that Vajpayee is a person who is above partisan politics. He said he had special blessings from Vajpayee. Singh said when Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, he used to organise a convention of Chief Ministers and he appreciated me specifically on three occasions during those conventions.
Former Union Minister Vikram Verma said Vajpayee owns a towering personality. He said he first met him in Indore in 1967. He said he has never seen a democratic person like Vajpayee who used to say that don’t oppose for the sake of opposition. Verma expressed his disappointment saying that UPA government should have conferred Bharat Ratna on Vajpayee.
Former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa said he knows Vajpayee for more than 50 years. Patwa said ‘Der Aayad Durast Aayad’. He said Vajpayee should have been given this award long back. He said it was only Vajpayee who could run a government backed by 24 parties. Patwa said he prays for Vajpayee’s long life and health.
Former CM Kailash Joshi said he is working with Vajpayee since 1958. Vajpayee, despite being a big leader, meets all party workers with affection. Joshi said he has not met Vajpayee since later not keeping well.
Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said conferring of Bharat Ratna on Vajpayee is a joyful moment. Tomar said he has seen him closely as he also belongs to Gwalior. Tomar said UPA government could have also got the fame which was earned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by conferring Bharat Ratna on Vajpayee. Tomar said Vajpayee is a person with vision and he always abides with truth.
