BHOPAL : Maiden meeting of CMs’ Sub-Group on rationalisation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes to give new direction to development in the country was held at National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) in New Delhi today.
The meeting under the chairmanship of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan constituted a working group headed by NITI’s CEO Sindhushri Khullar to chalk out further course of action of the sub-committee on the basis of Chief Ministers’ suggestions at the meeting and to prepare a draft for consideration.
The working group will comprise concerning senior officers of Centre and states. This was informed by Chauhan after the meeting.
Chauhan said that the meeting also discussed making schemes flexible as per requirement for their effective and result-oriented implementation, states’ active participation in making and proposing plans ie removal of tendency to impose schemes from higher level and changes likely to be made in view of increase of states’ share by Centre from 32 percent to 42 percent.
The CMs present at the meeting gave suggestions in the present context and requirements. Written suggestions were sent by some CMs who could not attend the meeting.
