BU sets up probe against ex- registrar, two others; spares vice chancellor

BHOPAL: Barkatullah University’s, executive council, on Saturday set up departmental probe against former registrar Dr Sanjay Tiwari, former exam controller NVS Rajput and the then examination centre in- charge Prof Kalika adav for BDS scam but spared vice- chancellor Dr Nisha Dube, who too has been charged with improper coordination of examination- related work, said sources.

Governor and Chancellor Ramnaresh adav had forwarded the report of Justice NK Jain committee to EC for action against those who were indicted in degree distribution and BDS scams. Principal Secretary, Higher education JN Kansotiya who specially attended the meeting as an ex- officio member, had arguments with another member Amit Sharma. Amit raised objection saying that the government leaked the report before it was tabled in the council’s meeting.

” The government has already transferred ex- examination controller NVS Rajput from the university to a Bareli college as principal saying that he was indicted in the report in BDS scam,” he said. The council set up the probe against Prof Kalika adav, who failed to monitor BDS examination. Two others Dr Tiwari and Rajput, who are in job with the state government, will face action by the state government.

The university will write to the department of higher education in this regard.Notices and charge- sheets will be issued against the trio. Besides, the university will take action against all those who were blamed in the judicial inquiry report.

Surprisingly, vice- chancellor Dr Nisha Dube who too has been blamed in the report, presided over the meeting. Members said no action was taken against her. ” It is now up to the governor and chancellor to take a decision about her,” said a member.

The committee approved the proposal for construction of examination hall, providing degrees with hologram and photograph of students within four months. It was also decided to serve notice on private Mansarovar Dental College.
