Main accused Gopal had opened the fire. The gunshot nicked the head of one of the victim severely injuring him. The cops are still clueless about the whereabouts of Gopal who is still absconding.  A love triangle is reported to be the main reason behind differences between accused Gopal and one of the victims, Venkatesh. It was not before long that they used to be close friends. Both the injured Dinesh, 30, and M Venkatesh, 26, are brothers and reside in Anna Nagar area. On Saturday morning both the victims were attacked by the five assailants over the old rivalry.  Gopal had made several rounds of fire on the victims. One of the bullets nicked past right side of head of Venkatesh. Later all the accused also stabbed the victims several times.
