Bhopal: Students’ calls on MPBSE helpline crosses 1K per day

Bhopal: A week after the announcement of class X and XII results, students’ calls on MPBSE’s helpline have gone up to thousand per day. Notably the helpline, since its launch in February this year, has received around 27,000 calls from students in just three months. Interestingly, the helpline is not only getting calls from different places in MP but from other states too. Even two international calls have also been received.

“Since the announcement of board results, we are getting approximately 1000 calls per day. Before the results, it was 600 calls per day. We have five helpline numbers now. Out of five, one is toll free which was started this year. We are running the helpline in three shifts now from 8 am to 8 pm. We have four counsellors for each shift of four hours.  And each counsellor is receiving around 60 to 80 calls per day,” Hemant Verma, incharge of the helpline told Free Press. He further said, “We are not only getting calls from students but also of parents from different states. Even from students who have gone abroad to spend their vacation all also calling us. Now, we are mostly getting results related queries from students. We will start career counselling soon.”

Sindhu Dholpure, a counsellor, who is working in the morning shift, said, “Now, we are mostly receiving calls of result-related quires and Ruk Jana Nahi scheme from students. Most of the students as well as parents are calling to know why their results are not showing till now. We are also getting calls for career guidance. And some local parents and students are also visiting the office for this purpose.”
