Bhopal: Shivraj may have to go to jail for ‘scams’ when Congress comes to power says LoP


Bhopal: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in State Assembly, Ajay Singh said that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will have to go to jail, if proven guilty, in the alleged scams took place during the regime of BJP-led government.

Congress on regaining power in the state will initiate probe into the alleged scams that took place during the Shivraj-led government and those guilty including Chouhan and others will have to go to jail, said Singh. He was addressing a gathering at the second phase of Nyaya Yatra in Chitrakoot on Monday, Singh said that the Yatra would continue till Shivraj government is uprooted.

Singh alleged that the state Assembly was adjourned just to evade debate on Rampal Singh’s issue. He alleged that the money meant to be given as bonus to tribals was being used for distribution of sarees and shoes to them. He claimed that a saree, worth Rs 80, was being purchased at Rs 400.

Congress state president Arun Yadav is also accompanying Singh in his Yatra. So far, Congress’ senior leaders namely Kamalnath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and former chief minister Digvijay Singh have maintained distance. State in-charge Deepak Babaria too has not yet joined it.

The ‘Nyaya Yatra’, has been launched by Singh seeing Congress organisation initiating no plan to launch any march against the state government and also no action-plan against in the Priti Raghuvanshi suicide case. State Congress committee has not yet made any official statement about the Yatra but Yadav is accompanying Singh. The Yatra in its first phase was taken out from Udaipura to Bhopal. The second phase has been launched from Vindhya region.
