BHOPAL: The SBI Ladies Club, on behalf of State Bank of India, donated an amount of Rs 7.77 lakh to National Institution of Woman Child and Youth Development ‘Bachpan’. This donation was given under Children’s Welfare Fund of the SBI.
Reeta Agarwal wife of Rajnish Agarwal, managing director (National Banking Group) handed over a cheque of Rs 7.77 lakh to the representatives of the institution for the education and uplift of students of 20 aanganwadi centres and three other schools in Bhopal belonging to downtrodden sections of society. This amount is meant for purchasing computers, LED projector, uniforms, school bags and other items.
Speaking on the occasion, Reeta Agarwal said SBI Ladies Club conducted various social activities on behalf of SBI and also on its own like providing books and stationery and things of daily need to the inmates of orphanages and juvenile homes, celebrating festivals with them, providing rations to leper homes etc. Also present on the occasion were Chairman, SBI Ladies Club Bhopal Circle S Uma Shanmukhi, vice-president Sudha Pammi, Manisha Singh and Poonam Chopra.
