Bhopal: Now, get free wi-fi at railway stations


Ratlam: Here comes a good news for railway passengers, as Western Railway for the first time in the state started providing free wi-fi facility to all the passengers in partnership with Google on Tuesday.

Railway under the Digital India Mission, earlier started free wi-fi for all passengers at Mumbai Central Station in partnership with Google for the first time in India.
The facility will also be provided at Indore, Ujjain, Churchgate, Dadar, Bandra, Khar Road, Bandra Terminus, Andheri, Borivali, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot stations, informed chief public relations officer of Western Railway, Ravinder Bhakar on Tuesday.

To provide a clean and pleasant travel experience, 67 trains are covered under ‘on board house-keeping services’ and 33 more are going to be covered shortly, he added.
Bhakar said that online registration for booking of special trains or coaches on full tariff rates was started as a pilot project by Western Railway.

As many as 36 stations have been provided with retiring rooms. Out of these, 16 stations are equipped with both retiring room and dormitory facility. 157 automated teller machines (ATM) of various banks have been provided at stations he said.
