Bhopal: National dance fest concludes at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium

BHOPAL: The three-day long national dance festival ‘4th Nritya Aangan’ concluded with dance drama, Kathak  and  Sattriya dances on Monday at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium. The programme began with dance drama based on 10 poems of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Directed by Rakhi Dubey and co-directed by Suraj Sharma and Suromita Panja, the dance drama was presented by Kalandhika Nritya Natya Sanstha. The drama began with poem ‘Mai Sochne Lagta Hun’. Some other poems including ‘Aao Mann Ki Ganthein,’ ‘Geet Naya Gata Hun,’ ‘Maut Se Than Gayi…’ were also in the drama. A poem which highlights the pain of Hiroshima was also used. It is noteworthy here that the poem of Atalji was staged for the first time in the country. The fest concluded with mesmerising Kathak dance of Mansi Saxena from Patiala and Sattriya, a classical dance of Assam by Mirnanda Barthakur.
