BHOPAL: At the instance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has changed the date of the conclusion of the Narmada Yatra. The function was originally scheduled to be held on May 11 at Amarkantak. However, due to his preoccupations, Modi expressed his inability to attend the function on that date. At his instance, May 15 was fixed as the new date. CM Chouhan informed about the change in date at the cabinet meeting and also at a meeting on Narmada Yatra.
The CM will be visiting Delhi on April 20 to meet the PM. At the meeting, he will invite him to be the chief guest at the concluding function. Chouhan said a plaque would be unveiled at Amarkantak on the conclusion of the Yatra and a ‘Parikrama Gallery’ would be constructed. He said on July 2, saplings would be planted on a mass scale on the banks of the river. Those interested in joining the tree plantation drive would be able to register their names on a dedicated website.
