Bhopal: Man killed by speeding city bus

BHOPAL: A 39-year-old man died after allegedly being hit by a speeding city bus (red bus) bearing route number SR-4 on Tuesday morning at Mangalwara. A case was registered against the accused driver who was absconding and the bus had been seized, the police said.

According to the police, identified Bhagirath Namdeo, a resident of Nishatpura, the man was on his bike when the city bus (MP04 PA 1058) hit him from behind near Bharat Talkies. After being hit Namdeo lost balance and fell on the ground sustaining severe injuries. He was soon rushed to a nearby hospital by the passersby where the doctors declared him brought dead. The unidentified accused driver of the bus fled from the scene soon after the incident. Police A case was registered based on a complaint lodged by an eyewitness of the accident. A manhunt had been launched to nab the absconding accused, the police added.
