BHOPAL: Bhopalites enjoyed Kathak dance by two famous gharanas including Raigadh and Banaras on the second-day of the three-day long national dance festival ‘4th Nritya Aangan’ on Sunday.
The concert began with mesmersing performance of kathak exponent of Raigadh gharana Dr Rakhi Dubey. She presented a few compositions of Raja Chakradhar Singh. Dubey, who is a disciple of Ramlal Bareth, also presented some ghazals of Singh, including ‘nikalo es tarah esko, badi mushkil se niklega, na dil pahloo se niklega, na hasrat dil se niklegi…,’ and won the hearts of audience. Some Darbari compositions which were used to perform in Raja Chakradhar court were also presented by her. The programme concluded with enchanting performance of Vishal Krishna, grandson of Kathak queen Sitara Devi. Krishna who hails from Banaras gharana presented kathak on Holi and thumri songs. The programme is being organised by Kalandhika Nritya Natya Sanstha Samiti.
