Bhopal: Government to spend Rs 400 per person to mobilise crowd for grand show

BHOPAL: A grand programme, funded by the government and being organised to mark chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s 11 years in office and BJP government’s 13 years in power, has been christened as training programme for ‘Jankalyan Yojana’. The government is going to spend around Rs 400 per person to bring beneficiaries to programme to be held in Bhopal.

A whopping Rs 28 crore has been remitted to the districts by various departments. It will be used to bring 7 lakh people to the programme. The expenditure on the function will be additional.

The training in the programme would last for a couple of hours. The programme was previously meant to announce the Garib Kalyan Agenda but now it has been given the form of training.


Money has been remitted to the districts by the departments of panchayat and rural development, UAD, agriculture and industries. According to sources, some collectors have sought permission from the government to put some amount in bank accounts, as they are facing problems in withdrawal of amount due to demonetisation move. Collectors have been asked to keep record of number of beneficiaries attending this programme. The expenditure is being made in the name of bringing people from districts for training to Bhopal.

No officer was willing to talk on the record on the issue.

To ensure that there is huge gathering; leaders of BJP organisation have also been indirectly deputed. Arrangements are being made on a large scale. Famous singer Alka Yagnik and folk artists would entertain the audience at the programme.
