Bhopal: Good quality roads come as boon for villagers


REWA: The good quality roads being constructed in the Rewa district have come as major relief for the residents and are provided connectivity to the rural areas. H.S. Thakur, the executive engineer of PWD Division No 1 of Rewa said that the construction of more than a dozen roads has been completed in the district and many more were under construction. He said that good quality roads would be constructed in keeping with government norms so that the people can travel around in comfort.

Thakur said that the construction of Nipnia-Tamra Road, that connects the city with hundreds of villages, has been completed. The Ataria-Bhitwa Road is also ready and the portion of the NH 7 that passes through the city has also been rebuilt. The work on Madla-Jamuniha and Jamuniha-Kitha-Lalpir roads is nearing completion. The EE said that all the roads have been built as per the government norms and were strong enough to last for many years.

Roads are the lifeline for the residents of the rural areas of the district and the construction of roads at a fast pace in the district will definitely benefit the people. The construction work of all roads would be completed before June 15. He said that the quality of the under-construction roads is being monitored regularly and the contractors who err on this count will face action as per the rules.
