Bhopal: Eminent artist Saini eyeing another world record

Bhopal: Sixty seven-year-old city-based eminent artist Raj Saini is preparing to create another world record by making 75-feet painting titled ‘Moods of Modi’. The acrylic colour on canvas highlights 15 moods or vision of the PM on Swachhta Abhiyan (cleanliness drive), terrorism, development, smart city, domestic violence et al. It is noteworthy here that the noted artist has already made many records including world by making painting on woman’s life in 71 hours, 20 portraits of legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar in 30 hours and portrait of some national level successful women in 24 hours and won many prestigious awards like state level Kala Shree Samman, Michelangelo Award and many more.

Speaking about the current work ‘Moods of Modi’, Saini told Free Press, “I’m working on this painting from December last year and my target is to complete it in this month. In this work, I tried to highlights 15 moods or vision of Modi regarding Swachhta Abhiyan, terrorism, development, smart city, domestic violence, rape and other issues by using acrylic colour on canvas.” He further said, “see, each portrait of Modi in the painting would have with different expressions. For example, he is in worried mood in cleanliness drive, whereas he is in angry mood on terrorism. Each portrait would be different from another and highlights vision of Modi towards development of nation.”

Saini who is incharge of modern art department at Jawahar Bal Bhawan further elaborates, “See, at present, Modiji is very popular face and centre of attraction across world. In fact nowadays he is role model and inspiration for everyone, especially for youths because he thinks of country’s development. So, I also thought that being a artist, it is my duty to send out his social message among people through my work.” Saini further said, “Bhopal figured second in Swachhta Survekshan. So, the painting is small gift for him by all Bhopalites.  I hope he will like. Last year, I made portrait of Modiji using flower colours on the occasion of environment day and also made a series of 15 oil works which was based on his tour to foreign countries as prime minister.”
