BHOPAL: Bengali Association, Bhopal is going to organise Indian classical music and dance concert series ‘Karunamoyee’ on Saturday from 7.15pm at Kali Bari auditorium, TT Nagar.
Talking to media persons on Thursday at Kali Bari, general secretary of the association Salil Chatterjee said, “We are organising the series programme for the first time to promote young classical artists including dance, singing and instrumental. And we will make it a regular affair. Since classical music is associated with temples, we are organising the programme at the temple only.”
Elaborating, Chatterjee said, “The concert will start with performances by noted sarod artiste Subhabrata Chatterjee and vocalist Vidushi Anjana Nath from Kolkata. They would be accompanied by city-based young musicians Jitendra Sharma, Ashesh Upadhyay and Anshul Pratap Singh respectively on harmonium and tabla. Tapan Bhoumik, chairperson, MP Tourism Development Corporation would be chief guest. Eminent musician Pt. Kiran Deshpande and Aniruddha Mukherjee, secretary of finance, Government of MP would be guests of honour on the occasion.” Programme consultant and noted santoor player Shruti Adhikari was also present.
