Bhopal: Chaddi banian gang strikes at Hinotia village, loot valuables worth more than Rs 4 lakh


Bhopal: The Chaddi Baniyan dacoit gang attacked sleeping villagers of Hinotia, and looted valuables worth Rs 4 lakh and have injured three brothers, under Misrod police station on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday. Police have announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on the miscreants. SP North, Arvind Saxena informed that the Kedar Lowanshi and their family members were sleeping in courtyard. Around 12.30 am, around 8 to 10 miscreants wearing shorts and lungi attacked the sleeping members with lathi and sharp edged weapons.

The female members were locked in a room and they were told to give gold, silver ornaments and also the cash. The other two brothers Rakesh and Sooraj who came to save their brother and their family, where also trapped with Kedar and they were also beaten up by the miscreants. The female family members gave ornaments weighing around 100 grams and Rs 1 lakh cash to the miscreants. The matter was reported to Dial-100 which reached at the spot and after taking primary inquiry, they passed on the message to police control room.

He informed that Misrod police have registered a case against unidentified miscreants. The police have issued sketches of accused and have announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on them.   Four search teams led by two DSP rank officers, six town inspectors and 100 police constables and other ranks had been constituted to nab the gang members. The police have launched a manhunt to arrest the miscreants.

Cops’ dilemma over jurisdiction

Police of Misrod and Kolar police stations were seemed to be in dilemma on Wednesday as who to register the case. To sort out the problem, patwari of the area was called to establish the jurisdiction of area. He declared that village Hanotia comes under Misrod police station and a case was registered by the Misrod police.
