Bhopal: 500 couples tie nuptial knot in Ijtima


BHOPAL: As many as five hundred “Niqah” were solemnised on the second day of three-day Iztima, one of the biggest global religious congregation of Muslim community members, at Eintkhedi on Sunday. All the Niqah were solemnised under the guidance and supervision of scholars and Maulanas who wished the newly-wed couples for a happy married life. Lakhs of Muslim community members from all over the world participated in Ijtima which continues for three day. It would conclude on Monday. Every year Ijtima is held from Saturday to Monday.

People from different societies come here to listen to peace talks and to learn about Islam. Scholars speak on a variety of subjects including the Islamic way of life and tenets of the one of the religions followed by multitudes across the world.

The state government has made ample arrangements to provide electricity, water supply and security along with parking places for the convenience of Jamaats. The Jamaats from different parts of the world from as far as west also attend this congregation. Translators for people from foreign countries, and translators for deaf and dumb are also being provided by Ijtema committee.

Earlier, Maulana Jamshaikh called upon the Muslims to follow principles laid down in Quran in the life. Another scholar, Maulana Saad advised to behave in a politely manner in life. Youths have been told to avoid overindulgence in use of internets and TV and only use them when they are required. Wasting the time in use of internet and TV is not justified and it will not pay dividend, Maulana Saad added. Besides, tight security arrangement has been made in the city with deployment of strong police force in the city. Tents have been installed for providing lodging to pilgrims attending Ijtima.
