Accused of firing evade arrest


BHOPAL : Even after more than 24 hours of an incident of firing on three bike-borne youths near high security zone Raj Bhawan in Jehangirabad, police could still not arrest the two accused even after their identities have been ascertained.

One of the two accused, Farhan resides near Moti Masjid area while another accomplice was said to be son of goon Munne Painter. After firing several rounds on three bike borne youths – Rashid Khan, Chhote Miyan and Shafiq Khan – the accused went to the shop of father-in-law of Shafiq located at Kilol Park and informed about the incident after which they fled toward old city.

Meanwhile, acting swiftly on the information, police personnel also cordoned off the area but the miscreants managed to escape safely.

CSP, Jehangirabad, Saleem Khan said that both the accused have been identified and search was on to nab them and they would be arrested soon.

CSP Khan further said that during further investigation of police it came to light that Shafiq was having a property dispute with few people over possession of a residential plot and before the firing incident there was a dispute among the victims and assailants over this issue.

Earlier on Saturday night, two bike-borne-youth waylaid and fired shots at three other bike-borne youth near Fish Aquarium within the limits of Jehangirabad police station on Saturday evening around 7pm. Two youth sustained injuries in the incident and were rushed to Chirayu and LBS Hospital where their condition was reported to be critical.

In the attack, Chhote Miyan sustained gun shots in his right hand while Shafique was fired on the back. It is said that both the parties were history sheeters and the reason behind the incident was old rivalry.
