Datsun will launch a limited edition of its entry level offering – the redi-GO – today, christened as redi-GO ‘Sport’. Datsun, which is the affordable arm of Nissan wants to cash in the upcoming festive season with this special edition. The vehicle will have aesthetic upgrades, while mechanically it will likely remain unaltered. We can expect Datsun to introduce this special variant based on the top-spec redi-GO only. Also, one can expect an estimated price hike of around Rs 20,000 – 25,000 on the ongoing model.

Looking at the teaser image shared by the automaker, the redi-GO Sport will have racing stripes, which will be probably applied across the length of the car. Additionally, the limited run model will have side stripes, black painted wheel caps and grille, both with red highlights. On the inside, we can expect Datsun to offer new sporty upholstery and might as well few additional features. Rest of the vehicle will likely to remain identical to the top-spec redi-GO.
Mechanically, as we have mentioned above, it is unlikely that the redi-GO Sport to have any changes. The special edition will be powered by the same 799cc three-cylinder motor which produces 53PS of peak power along with 72Nm of max torque, mated to a 5-speed manual. For the uninitiated, this motor is shared with the Renault Kwid.
